Father's Day Gifts For All The Different Dad Personalities
I loved this card my youngest daughter, Grace, gave her dad last year. Pretty much sums it up really for a then, 21 year old!
The photo (below) is of my dad. He didn't know it was being taken. I'll probably get in big trouble for publishing it but he still doesn't understand social media or blogs so I might be safe!
My mother died two years ago. My mum and dad had been together for over 56 years. My parents lived in the country, dad still does. I will always cherish this photo of my 83-year-old father because it shows the love he had for my mum. The photo was taken at the cemetery where my mother is laid to rest. Dad drives 39 km each way ever day to visit her grave. Sometimes twice a day. The only times he has missed is when he's been in hospital himself.
My father moulded me into being the strong, never give up and try anything type of woman I am. That has resulted in not the most stable life, but I wouldn't change it for anything because when my time ends on this planet I can honestly say, it's been one hell of an adventure.
+++++++
I'm sure we all have our favourite dad stories to share and of course most dad's deserve the best recognition when it comes to Father's day. Now my father is extremely hard to buy for; in fact it's impossible, and I usually end up buying him a bottle of whisky or a case of VB but it has to be cans not bottles or he won't drink it lol. So I've gone hunting around some of the partners I affiliate with and PR companies I work with to find the best gifts. Even with all my hunting I still can't find anything for my dad so it's probably a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey again (yes, he's Irish). Maybe there is something here for your dad.
ECO FRIENDLY DAD
This soap on a rope made me laugh. I haven't seen a soap on a rope since I was a teenager and it used to be the standard 'dad' present from me (before the booze) which always resulted in lots of laughs. I used to buy a brand called Old Spice ... it was the grooming product in its time. However, this one I've discovered is a natural handmade charcoal soap and available at BIOME for $15.95.
THE ADVENTURE DAD
I have participated in a number of events with Adrenaline including: Helicopter Ride, Jet Boat, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Eye Tower and the Central Coast Zip line. All were great fun. This photo is the chopper I few in over Sydney Harbour. I'll never forget the buzz of flying straight over the Harbour Bridge and then up past Bondi and Watson's Bay. You can book an adventure with Adrenaline here.
The Tree Tops Zip line on the Central Coast was probably the bravest thing I've ever done with Adrenaline. I had to put music over my video because the language wasn't the most ladylike when I was zipping down the line above and through the Tree Tops.
