Ron Goodman’s quest for glory at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Ron Goodman Porsche

Australian racing superstar Ron Goodman will be heading off to California later this week, to compete in his seventh Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The event which runs from the 17th to 20th of August, brings together the upper echelon of the world’s top historic motor vehicles, to race for the top spot.

Mr. Goodman claimed victory at the Reunion in 2014, but this year he intends to improve on his second place finish from last year.

He believes his famous Porsche 1954 Pre-A 356 Coupe can outdo the competition, despite cars such as a $68 million Ferrari appearing at the starting line.

“A 54 Porsche is not supposed to be fast and our one is very quick…it has been said that we have the fastest and best looking 54 Pre-A Porsche in the world.”

And since last year, a new gearbox has been built for the vehicle, with the internals of the engine configured to maximise horsepower and subsequently, improve the car’s capacity to claim victory. For victory is what Mr. Goodman is seeking.

“Every time we hit the track we intend to win…what I’m looking forward to most is winning.”

But the event doesn’t just bring historical cars together, it also allows motor enthusiasts from around the globe to gather in the same place. Mr. Goodman makes the most of this opportunity, and shares around his Aussie spirit.

“Americans and spectators from around the world…are always extremely interested in hearing about Australia – the country I call home.”

We wish Ron the best of luck!
