An Apple Called "Envy"
At the recent media launch of Monatague's new apple "Envy" guests were treated to a beautiful high tea with an apple twist to celebrate mother's and women around Mother's Day.
The Montague's have been farming apples since 1948 so they obviously know a thing or two about their produce. The Envy apple's claim to fame is its ability to maintain a bright white flesh well after it has been sliced which makes it a ideal for snacks, cheese platters and salads. It's also sweet, dense and flavoursome which is probably why this apple is recognised as the most popular new apple in Asia, achieving high demand.
Envy will be available in Woolworths supermarkets throughout VIC, NSW, QLD and TAS from May.
The event was held at The Langham Sydney, which is a stunning hotel in Kent Street. I have been to a few events in the Drawing Room at The Langham and every time they do it so right. The Langham has to be the most elegant hotel in Sydney as far as I'm concerned, and even though it's a bit of a walk from the CBD, it makes up for that being in a quieter area with easy access to Barangaroo and The Rocks. I have stayed there once and the room I had was magnificent with that wonderful old world charm The Langham has a reputation for.
The hight tea was a selection of savoury and sweet with a focus on apple of course.
