Moto G5 and G5Plus Launch Sydney
Yesterday I attended the Sydney Launch of the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at an intimate lunch at Wharf 4 Hickson Road. This was a great opportunity to meet the team from Motorola and learn about the phone. I've always thought of Motorola as a cool brand and pleased to see them releasing a product like this that is high tech and affordable.
For a phone that is under $500 the Moto G5 has a camera that is advanced in its class so for someone like me, who is always on her phone taking photos for social media, I have to say that I’d consider swapping my iPhone for the Moto G5 because of the quality of the photos and the ease of use of this phone.
The Moto G5 Plus does not compromise on style either, with either a gold or grey metallic casing to choose from. The new 2017 Moto G5 Plus design language is inspired from the premium Moto Z family and comes with a high-grade aluminum finish that’s been diamond cut and bead-blasted to perfection. The device comes with a 13.2cm (5.2) screen in full HD with 1080p and Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3.
The Moto G5 Plus features fast processors, great battery life, rapid charging, fingerprint reader, and advanced camera features all wrapped up in one device at an affordable price. With a flick of your wrist you can turn the phone straight into camera mode which I wish that was featured on my current phone because it’s so tedious unlocking it and I’ve missed many great photo opportunities.
The camera comes with Dual Autofocus Pixels, the Moto G5 Plus allows you to lock onto your target in the blink of an eye, so you never miss a shot. This 12 MP camera with a circular saturn ring design takes beautiful photos even on dark, cloudy days. The large aperture f/1.7 and bigger pixels combine to let in up to 25% more light than the previous generation. I played around with the focus and I consider this feature a real bonus for anyone who is obsessed with Instagram like I am! With the Moto G5 Plus you can forget using the SnapChat beautification filter because the camera allows the user to enhance selfies by smoothing the skin to reduce blemishes or wrinkles. Hmmm….sounding better by the minute!
Another feature of the camera software in Moto G5 Plus “Best Shot” feature which captures multiple shots before and after the screen is touched, analyzing the issues like blurred subjects or blinking eyes, before recommending the best picture to keep. Further, the camera also features the professional mode allows adjustment of various aspects like focus, white balance, shutter, ISO & exposure compensation making it a treat for photography lovers. I also like the long lasting battery because my phone is constantly draining itself dry. The 3,000 mAh battery will easily last all day. When it’s time to power up, never slow down and fuel up fast with TurboPower™ charging -- up to six hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.
Fast fingerprint reader Keeping the information on your phone secure is very important but remembering PINs and passwords can be a pain. With the Moto G5 Plus, there won’t be the hassle of constantly changing pins and passwords for privacy and having to remember a new one every time. Moto G5 Plus fingerprint reader makes it so much more convenient to lock and unlock all of your content. Also, motions and gestures can be used to activate features giving its consumer immense ease of use. Moto G5 Plus also includes Moto Actions and a new experience: One Button Nav, which lets you quickly navigate through screens using the fingerprint reader. Moto G5 Plus is NFC enabled, so you’ll be able to use it to make mobile payments where it is supported. At participating stores, all you’ll need to do is place your phone near an NFC terminal and use your fingerprint. It’s fast and easy—and there’s no need to carry cash or credit cards.
Moto G5 The Moto G5 is also a stylish phone with high grade aluminum flaunting a 12.7cm (5.0) screen in full HD with 1080p (1080 x 1920 IPS) and 441ppi resolution. The Moto G5 packs a best in class camera sensor which comes with a phase detection autofocus (PDAF) 13MP rear camera, a large f/2.0 aperture, LED flash to make clicking pictures in low light easier and 5MP wide-angle lens designed for group selfies. The device features a refined camera experience with the signature Best Shot software, beautification mode, and professional mode.
This phone also lasts all day and has a speedy 1.4 GHz octa-core processor and powerful graphics capabilities. The new Moto G5’s fingerprint sensor lets you unlock your phone, wake it up and even authorize purchases online, with just a touch of your finger. Enjoy Moto Experiences with Moto Display and Moto Actions.
