Time Out Bar Awards Sydney 2017
Sydney Chic attended the Time Out Bar Awards 2017 at Star City on 29th January and congratulations to all the winners.
THIS MUST BE THE PLACE, an Oxford Street cocktail bar was named ‘Bar of the Year’ and also took out the award for Best Cocktail Bar. This Must Be The Place specialises in spritzes.
MIKEY NICOLIAN (Enmore deli-bar-bistro Continental) won the coveted Bartender of the Year.
RAMBLIN RASCAL TAVERN was awarded “Best Bar Team”
Jazz Bar VENUE 505 took ownership of the Time Out Legend Award in recognition of 12 years of independent music as well as being one of the coolest places in Sydney to hang out.
PS40 won The Best New Bar, and we are not surprised here at Sydney Chic because....."well they are pretty awesome".
DOLPHIN WINE BAR won Best Wine Bar.
BIG POPPA’S in Darlo went home with Best Restaurant Bar.
GRETZ in Enmore took out the Best Neighbourhood Bar but that wasn’t without a fight with competition from Castle Hill, Parramatta, Redfern and Newtown!
The awards were decided by a panel of Time Out critics, with the exception of the Hot Talent Award, which is voted on by an industry panel, and People’s Choice, which is voted by Time Out readers.
RYAN SNEDDEN from Lobo Plantation won the Hot Talent Award.
HUDSON BALLROOM (formerly Plan B and Goodgod) received the People’s Choice Award.
A special one-off award “Queen of the Party” went to KAT DOPPER, who runs Heaps Gay around Sydney venues in recognition of keeping Sydney’s nightlife alive in our Nanny State (Deb Carr’s words not Time Out).
