2016 Australian Fashion Laureate Awards Winners

The Australian Fashion Laureate Awards were announced recently at a ceremony at Bennelong, Sydney Opera House. This an event with the who's who of the fashion industry celebrating the success of their peers. Australian designer Toni Maticevski was awarded Australian fashion’s most prestigious award, the Australian Fashion Laureate.

Additional winners included ELLERY for Best Australian Womenswear, Strateas.Carclucci for Best Australian Menswear, Parlour X for Best Australian Retailer and macgraw for Best Australian Emerging Designer.

A respected icon in Australian fashion, Toni Maticevski was awarded the Australian Fashion Laureate in recognition of his artisanal craft and innovative design, continuously breaking barriers in Australian fashion. Maticevski’s use of complex drapery, meticulous tailoring and architectural design has deemed his championship in Australian fashion. Maticevski has been exemplary in driving a successful business whilst producing majestic creations true to the heart of his brand.

The Australian Fashion Laureate Awards are presented by the NSW Government and IMG to recognise the outstanding creative achievements of the nation’s fashion industry.
