Here is your chance to check out a mob of 22 kangaroos in Sydney Created from COLORBOND® steel. The kangaroos are to commemorate the iconic Australian brand’s 50th anniversary and have been designed and produced by award-winning sculptor Louis Pratt.
The mob is made up of full size male and female kangaroos, along with a handful of joeys with the largest being 160cm high.
The mob will be exhibited at Hickson Road Reserve from 25 October 2016 to 27 October 2016 and the 22 roos are made from all 22 colours in the current COLORBOND® steel range. Each day between 12 noon and 2pm, the steel roos will be joined by some real life joeys from Featherdale Wildlife Park.
Sculptor Louis Pratt is renowned for his work – he won the prestigious $100,000 Mt Buller Sculpture Prize in 2013 - and created the mob over six weeks. Together they weigh over 700 kilograms.
After the exhibition the kangaroos will be auctioned off and proceeds will go to the National Council of State Emergency Services. The first kangaroos to be auctioned will be Ned, Matilda and Banjo (pictured above).
