Staying Hydrated Using Soda Stream Sparkling Water
That little demo above is my machine being used.
I also keep fresh mint leaves next to the machine so I'm popping them into the glass which makes it far more refreshing as you can see from my Instagram post below and sometimes some slices of cucumber. I'm definitely seeing an improvement in my skin especially now that we are in the cooler months with heaters and air conditioning that can be quite drying.
I can honestly say I've gone from drinking probably just a glass of water a day to more than a litre, and it definitely has made my head feel clearer. Another thing I Iike about having a sparkling water maker is that it makes some very nice drinks for when you may want something that is not alcoholic.
For Example:
SPARKLING MELON COOLERS
Ingredients
Punnet of raspberries
1/2 cup cantaloupe
Ice cubes
Drizzle of maple syrup
Mint leaves
Sparkling water
Method:
Muddle the raspberries at the bottom of the glass.
Blend the cantaloupe and maple syrup together in a blender with some ice cubes. Taste and add more maple or ice if needed.
Pour cantaloupe mixture on top of the muddled raspberries. Add about 1/4 cup of sparkling water (add more for more bubbles).
Stir the layers in the glass together, garnish with fresh mint, and sip up the sparkles!
And for those who want a real cocktail.....
GREEN TEA MOJITO
Ingredients:
125ml brewed green tea 15ml white rum 1tbsp lime juice 4 large mint leaves 2 tsp sugar Sparkling water Ice
Method:
Muddle the lime juice, mint and sugar together in a Collins glass until the leaves bruise lightly and the flavours release. Add ice until glass is about 3/4 full and then pour in rum and green tea. Top with sparkling water and stir thoroughly.
Also available are naturally flavoured fruit sweeteners to add taste to the water. All have natural flavours, and ingredients, which are sourced from real fruit components.
This is one item on the kitchen bench that is getting used every day. It's also a smart looking machine and doesn't take up too much room.
I am using filtered water with mine because I feel the tap water gives it a little bit of chlorine taste so I'd definitely recommend you do the same.
