Is Your Shirt Loud Enough to Help The Shepherd Centre?

Last night I attended the Launch at LUXE Newtown of #PaintNewtownLoud2015 to support the Shepherd Centre's #LoudShirtDay to raise funds for the charity. How you can get involved in the 2015 LOUD SHIRT DAY campaign.

Paint Newtown Loud encourages residents to wear the flashiest and most vibrant outfit they have to help raise money for the Shepherd Centre. Business owners and community members are being encouraged to spice up their wardrobes and shop fronts for the annual LOUD SHIRT DAY campaign.

This year’s ambassadors include well-known Newtown personality and local shop owner Emily Downs (of Wanting Collection) and Shepherd Centre graduate and Channel 10’s The Great Australian Spelling Bee participant, Jye Davies.

The Paint Newtown Loud initiative is a competition with prizes donated by local businesses including Young Henrys, Opus and Miss Peaches

The initiative will be launched ahead of The Shepherd Centre’s annual fundraising campaign Loud Shirt Day 2015 on Friday 16th October 2015. The Shepherd Centre is encouraging Australians to rifle through their closets, put on their brightest and loudest shirts and host a fundraising event. The Loud Shirt Day campaign raises funds and awareness to support deaf and hearing impaired children across Australia, and this year The Shepherd Centre and other First Voice Centres across Australia hope to reach a fundraising target of $95,000.

There are a number of ways you can get involved in this year’s campaign:

  • Fundraise by hosting a LOUD lunch or morning tea and encourage your office to dress in their brightest colours;

  • Grab your favourite, silliest and brightest shirts and get sharing on social media using the hashtag #LoudShirtDay.

  • Visit www.loudshirtday.com.au and register your fundraising event.

  • Invite friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues to come along in support.

  • Collect donations (no matter how big or small) to help give deaf children sound and speech through the services provided by First Voice Centres.

  • Follow LoudShirtDay on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to get all the latest Loud Shirt Day news.

  • Inspire others by sharing your LOUD SHIRT DAY photos (don’t forget to include #loudshirtday)
