Every celebrity visiting Sydney needs to know about this little secret
By Deb Carr
I was lucky enough to have an exclusive tour of The Residences by Executive Director, James Ruben.
This is seriously Sydney’s best kept secret. It’s almost like having the most indulgent experience of being at a Bed & Breakfast in the Hunter Valley or Southern Highlands without the drive. The location is Centennial Park, Sydney.
Guests stay in the park in one of two heritage-listed boutique properties built in the 1890s. The Superintendents Residence and The Rangers Residence have been restored into boutique luxury hotel accommodation, amidst the gardens and magnificent fig trees that are home to yellow crested cockatoos and a myriad of birdlife.
Each Residence offers beautifully appointed, self-contained accommodation in Sydney with modern amenities, antique furniture, fully-equipped designer kitchens, warm and inviting living areas, complimentary Appelles natural beauty products, complimentary wi-fi, 24-hour Concierge services. The Residences can cater for parties of up to eight guests.
Breakfast includes bespoke and locally produced foods including honey from Centennial Park’s own bee hives, freshly made delicacies from internationally acclaimed chefs at Vincent French Bistro in Woollahra, berry jams and artisanal breads.
Upon request guests can enjoy additional activities and services such as:
Degustation dinners prepared by your very own chef and served by your own butler
Picnic lunches
Functions in the house or gardens for up to 200 people
Wedding party hair & make up
Personalised park tours
Bike hire and horse riding
Full-service, in-house meal options for small groups and intimate events
Spa and beauty packages
Corporate event management in the Residences
This venue is perfect for weddings (guests bridal party can stay in rooms), corporate functions, celebrity stays and Board meetings.
